yes, a much needed directional correlation would be needed for us near the madison area.

i'm anxious to work off some of this playing i didn't get to do at previous lans because i finally upgraded from a POS laptop to a beast of a tower.

Other LANs - EAGLECON MILWAUKEE LAN (Nov. 22)

Hey everyone,
Marquette is holding another LAN. Just in time before finals really start kicking in. Join us on campus for a great event. We are targeting the LAN for 50 players and should have plenty of resources to have some nice competition.

As of right now we are planning on having a TF2 tournament and an Unreal Tournament 2004 match. Other games may be added in the future.

Area Event News - RE: MWL10 - A New Formula

Sounds like a neat idea - the only drawback I could see, and it could be a big one, is that if you don't have enough people remaining to play in the other tournaments. To pull this off you'd probably need at least a 60-100 person event. And if you have TOO many other events, the fragmentation could cause troubles regardless of how many attendees you plan on having. Could be tricky.

Still, it's a good idea. Hope it works for you guys!

A new format, huh? Shiny! That should save me from sitting around browsing the internet when the CS:S tourney comes around.

... though chances are, everyone would ditch the other tourney to play CS:S anyways.

Area Event News - MWL10 - A New Formula

Hey guys, we are starting to get into the deeper planning stages for MidWestLAN10 and will be attempting a different plan then normal for our LANs.

This LAN we'll be trying something different with our scheduling in hopes of adding a bit of variety to our gaming lineup. We will be running a schedule that is similar to events such as the World Series of Poker where we will have simultaneous tournaments going on at the same time so if you don't want to play in one, you can take part in another.

As with all MWL events we are eager to hear your input for what games you want to see at the LAN! We are looking at 3 FPS and 2 RTS at the moment, with one of the FPS tournaments being our Main Event

well hey, i like we're getting back into the lan biz again. hoping i can have my new comp built before then (yes, i will be trying to ditch my laptop finally.)

TF2 is a must, for an RTS (cause you gotta have one) how about some good old-fashioned warcraft3. and a shooter to tag the end could be CoD4 or UT3.

Well well, consider me game for the party and afterparty.

Where will this be held - At Misty? Misty's willing to host LANs still, more or less, if they get a $10/person cut in.

Team Fortress 2 is a given for gaming, and I also want to throw World in Conflict out there for consideration, seeing as each and every time we've cracked it open for a huge game, it ends up being hours worth of excitement.
